Retro Storage Crate Workshop

  • the Green Project 2831 Marais Street New Orleans, LA, 70117 United States (map)

Skill Level: Beginner
Ages: 18+
Location: MakerSpace (located upstairs; no a/c in the main room, but adjacent classroom available to cool down)

In this workshop, we’ll build retro-style storage crates perfect for storing anything from wine bottles to vinyl records.

Attendees will learn how to reuse reclaimed tongue and groove flooring to build a sturdy box. We will use a miter saw to cut boards to length and a table saw to mill them to size. We will assemble our boxes using triangular corner supports, and trim out the outside corners with reclaimed shutter slats.

This is a great way to get comfortable using table miter saws while gaining experience in simple joinery and box building.
