Wooden Pallet Trays

  • the Green Project 2831 Marais Street New Orleans, LA, 70117 United States (map)

Skill Level: Beginner
Ages: 18+
Location: MakerSpace (located upstairs; no a/c in the main room, but adjacent classroom available to cool down)

In this workshop, you’ll use the skills from learned at our wood refinishing workshop, to create reclaimed pallet serving trays!

You will begin by choosing the wood you would like to work with and use the planer to remove any imperfections which aren’t wanted. Then those pieces of wood will be brought over to the miter saw where they will be cut to the desired dimensions of your serving tray. The next step will be to join the pieces together with a few trim nails and wood glue, ensuring that your tray is strong enough to hold anything you may use it for.

Finally the addition of handles will prevent any slips which may occur, these can be made from either cabinet pulls or sash chord completing your serving tray. These trays make for fantastic gifts or to have in your own home!
