HOW TO DONATE
The Green Project depends on the generosity of people like you. We will take your gently used building materials as well as donations of cash or time. All donations are tax deductible and used to further our mission of promoting environmentally sustainable living in New Orleans.

Don't dump it, donate it!
If you have reusable building or remodeling materials that you no longer need, you can drop off materials anytime between 9am and 5pm, Monday through Saturday, when our staff is available to help you. Please be aware that materials are accepted only at staff discretion and make sure to call in advance if you have questions about whether we accept specific items. Check our list of accepted materials for items that we will take.

The Green Project accepts most used or new building materials. It is important that donated materials are all USABLE.

If you have a large quantity of material to donate, The Green Project may be able to pick up your donation. Please call (504)945-0240 to schedule a pickup.

Donate Equipment
We are a busy organization and constantly in need of equipment in good condition that can be used for deconstruction and materials salvage. Anyone in the Gulf Coast region or elsewhere that has equipment that they no longer use or would be willing to donate, please contact us at info@thegreenproject.org. Some current needs are:

Industrial wood chipper
Paint mixing and filtering equipment
Stacking chairs and folding tables for our community workshops

Adopt-A-House
Without a free deconstruction program in place, many residents have no other option but to accept government-paid demolition services in order to begin rebuilding. Through the Adopt-A-House program, The Green Project offers deconstruction services free of charge to residents in need of environmentally and socially responsible alternative.

How do I help Adopt-A-House?
Donations of any amount are always welcome. Here is a list of how far your donation will go:

$100	Safety gear for one crew member
$500	Tools and safety gear for one crew member
$1,000	Storm debris removal from site
$2,000	Sponsor one crew member for one house
$12,000	Complete deconstruction for one house

The Adopt-A-House donor will receive signage on the deconstruction site, media coverage, before and after photos, inventory of materials salvaged and tax deductible acknowledgement of gift. Please email info@thegreenproject.org if you are interested in adopting a house.
