DECONSTRUCTION
Deconstruction is a sustainable alternative to demolition. Rather than bulldozing historic buildings, our licensed salvage team will dismantle the structure carefully to conserve valuable resources.
All of the recovered materials are kept out of landfills that are straining to keep up with the debris created by the storm. Some of these materials can be recycled and made into new building materials. Certain irreplaceable material, such as many architectural elements, hardware, and old growth lumber can be reused in the rebuilding and repairing of damaged homes.
You or your general contactor can hire The Green Project to deconstruct your building. We are capable of both large and small jobs including complete homes, small commercial structures, kitchen tear-outs, garages, roof to foundation deconstruction, multi-story, partial salvage, and more. You can keep the materials or donate them to The Green Project for a significant tax deduction.
When we complete a job, you receive a detailed portfolio including an itemized written and photographic documentation of the salvaged materials that you can use for tax purposes or for historic record.
We would be happy to discuss all your removal options with you. Please contact our Deconstruction Manager at (504)578-0000 or e-mail decon@thegreenproject.org for more information.
